Richard Lee Holst

Richard Lee Holst was born in Waterloo, Iowa, on February 21, 1936, son of Leo E. and Elizabeth (Koch) Holst. He departed this life May 5, 2013, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Arkansas, at the age of 77 years, 2 months, and 14 days. Richard was united in marriage to Mavis Marie Bonesteel on January 21, 1989, at Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. He served his country with the U. S. Army and was employed as a mechanic with International Harvester. Richard was a member of Friends of the Library and served as city alderman for Horseshoe Bend for two terms. He is survived by his wife Mavis of the home in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; three brothers, Donald Holst of Cottage Grove, Oregon, David Holst of Villa Park, Illinois, and Michael Holst of Chicago, Illinois; two sisters, Janet Holst of Coos Bay, Oregon, and Judy Buford of Cottage Grove, Oregon, and mother, Elizabeth Holst of Cottage Grove, Oregon. He was preceded by his father and one sister, Barbara Holland. Memorials preferred to Horseshoe Bend Fire Department, 704 W. Commerce, Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas 72512.
