Robert Eugene (Growler) Yancey, Sr. was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on September 9, 1942, son of Robert Cecil and Alma Jean (Harrison) Yancey. He departed this life on Saturday, August 10, 2013, at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas, at the age of 70 years, 11 months, and 1 day. Growler was self employed as a Rancher. He was a member of the Franklin Baptist Church in Franklin, Arkansas. Growler is survived by his cherished companion, Shirley Hixson of Franklin, Arkansas; two daughters, Lynn Robin Bryant, of Golden, Colorado, and Laura Elaine Bryant, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; three sons, Robert Scott Bryant (Ann Marie) of Waco, Texas, Mike Wallace Bryant of La Junta, Colorado, and Robert Eugene Yancey, Jr. (Kelly) of Whispering Pines, North Carolina; two grandsons, Johnathan Bryant and Lucas Cecil Yancey; one brother, Charles W. Yancey (Cindia) of Franklin, Arkansas; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Cecil and Alma Jean Yancey. Memorials preferred to the Arkansas State Police.
