James Elam McKnight

James Elam McKnight was born in Gibson County, Tennessee, on March 21, 1927, son of James Carl and Artie Ora (Lynch) McKnight. He departed this life at his home in Ash Flat, Arkansas, on Saturday, August 24, 2013, at the age of 86 years, 5 months, and 3 days. James was united in marriage to Beatrice Louise Richardson on October 16, 1948, at Hardy, Arkansas, and to this union four children were born. He was employed as a repair technician for Southwestern Bell and attended Spring River Baptist Church in Hardy, Arkansas. James is survived by a granddaughter, Jeanna Cooper of Holden, Missouri; one grandson, Mark Langle of Ash Flat, Arkansas; a sister, Evelyon Krause of Apex, North Carolina; three great grandchildren, Tyler and Emily Warren and Noah Cooper, all of Holden, Missouri; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife; two daughters, Eva Jo McKnight and Lou Ann Langle; two sons, Harmon McKnight and James Elam McKnight; his parents; one brother, Bob McKnight and one sister, Eva Lee Colliver. Funeral services will be held at Spring River Baptist Church in Hardy, Arkansas, at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 31, 2013, with Bro. Floyd Rikard officiating. Interment will be in the Bronaugh Cemetery with services under direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 1:00 PM until service time at the church. Pallbearers are Tyler Warren, Zack Cooper, Mark Langle, James Langle, Robert McKnight and Randy McKnight.
