John Scott Sutton Jr

John Scott Sutton Jr. was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on April 12, 1940, son of John Scott and Mildred (Creel) Sutton Sr. He departed this life Sunday, November 17, 2013, at Crownpoint Health & Rehab Center in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 5 days. John was united in marriage to Zona Virginia Thompson on July 27, 1973, at Terrant, Oklahoma. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany as an aircraft mechanic. John attended Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Ash Flat, Arkansas, and served as bishop in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Mountain Home, Arkansas Ward of the Springfield, Missouri Stake. He served on the airport commission board for Horseshoe Bend. He is survived by his wife Zona of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; two daughters, Carole Liggett of Jacksonville, Illinois, and Joan Jordan of Houston, Texas; five sons, Tommy Buchanan of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, Jerry Buchanan of Salem, Arkansas, Randy Sutton of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, John Scott Sutton III of Pelham, Alabama, and Jimmy Sutton of Springfield, Missouri; one sister, Joan Manual of Houston, Texas; twenty three grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Barbara Gale Sutton. Funeral services will be held at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Ash Flat, Arkansas, at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 22, 2013, with Bishop Randall Drake officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment in Shiloh Cemetery at Ash Flat, Arkansas, with services under direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Tommy Buchanan, Jerry Buchanan, Randy Sutton, Jimmy Sutton, John Scott Sutton III, and Brian Jordan.
