Tommy Richmond

Tommy Richmond was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on July 31, 1939, son of Paul and Bertie Lee (McElmurray) Richmond. He departed this life at his home in Salem, Arkansas, Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at the age of 74 years, 4 months and 10 days. Tommy was employed as a ferry boat pilot with the Arkansas State Highway Department for 30 years. He was a member of Arkansas Cowboys Association and of the Baptist faith. Tommy is survived by one daughter Robin Rogers and husband Ray of Rogers, Arkansas; one son Ronny Richmond and wife Jurlene of Viola, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Dustin Richmond and wife Stephanie of Panama City, Florida, Ashley Mathews and husband Josh of Atlanta, Georgia, and LeAllison Boatright and husband Andrew of Atlanta, Georgia; one great granddaughter Sophia Richmond; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia; his parents, Paul Richmond and Bertie Lee Richmond Love; stepfather Eulos Love and one brother Zane Richmond. Funeral services will be held at Salem First Baptist Church in Salem, Arkansas, at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 12, 2013, with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Interment will be in the Viola Cemetery at Viola, Arkansas, with services under direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem. The body will Lie In State from 11:00 AM until visitation on Thursday at the church. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time. Pallbearers are Ray Barker, Mark Montgomery, Darick Brown, Jerry Richmond, Cris Newberry and Terry Richmond. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Batterton, Jimmy Clayton, Don Newberry, Donald Sanders, Roger Brown, Larry Meeks, Dolan Porterfield and Lonnie Williams.
