Leota Mae Maguffee

Leota Mae Maguffee was born in Ballard, Arkansas, on August 13, 1936, daughter of Fred Washington and Della (Mooney) Ellis. She departed this life on Monday, January 27, 2014, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Arkansas, at the age of 77 years, 5 months and 14 days. Leota was united in marraige to Marshall Dale Maguffee on July 5, 1957, at Salem, Arkansas. She was employed as a machine operator at Tri County Shirt Company and a member of Salem First Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. Leota will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by two sons, Bob Maguffee and wife Shanna and Marvin Maguffee and wife Lynn, all of Salem, Arkansas; two granddaughters, Melanie Dotson and husband Matthew of West Plains, Missouri, and Chelsea Maguffee of Salem, Arkansas; two sisters, Ella Faye Hall and husband Morris of Ash Flat, Arkansas, and Barbara Mayo of West Plains, Missouri; many other relatives and friends. Leota was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one brother Gaylon Ellis. Funeral services will be held at Salem First Baptist Church in Salem, Arkansas, at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, with Bro. John Hodges and Barbara Hubbell officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 28 from 6-8 PM at Salem First Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery with services under direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas. Pallbearers are James Blevins, Thadnel Willett, Steve Painter, Jerry Blevins, Tim Hodges and Charles Willett. Honorary pallbearers are the Seekers 1 Sunday school class. Memorials preferred to Salem First Baptist Church Building Fund.
