Dorthey Mae Wray

Dorthey Mae Wray was born in Allen, Nebraska, on August 18, 1929, daughter of Rufus Joshua and Leona Nell (Isom) Moore. She departed this life Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Viola, Arkansas, at the age of 84 years, 6 months and 16 days. Dorthey was united in marriage to Robert William Wray on February 24, 1950, at Mitchell, Arkansas. She was a cook for the Viola School System and was a member of Viola First Baptist Church. Dorthey is survived by two sons, Elwin Wray and wife Teresa of Viola, Arkansas, and Kelvin Wray and wife Patty of Elizabeth, Arkansas; five granddaughters, Brook Wray of Viola, Arkansas, Kelly Miller (Jason) of Salem, Arkansas, Brandi Meredith (Calvin) of Viola, Arkansas, Kimberley Mundy (Matthew) of McKinney, Texas, and Breann Cowgill (Cass) of Viola, Arkansas; seven great grandchildren, Ethan, Gabriel, Caden, Madalyn Mae, Gunner, Elijah and Tucker; two sisters, Elsie Moore of Salem, Arkansas, and Irma Robinett of Raytown, Missouri; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Jerry Alvin Wray; parents; one sister, Lola Collins and two brothers, Lou and John B. Moore. Funeral services will be held at Viola First Baptist Church in Viola, Arkansas, at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 9, 2014, with Bro. Larry Ring officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Mitchell, Arkansas, with services under direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas. Family will receive friends Saturday, March 8, from 6 - 8 PM at Viola First Baptist Church. Pallbearers are Jason Miller, Cass Cowgill, Calvin Meredith, Porter Howell, Matthew Mundy and Ray Berry. Honorary pallbearers are the Senior Adults Sunday School Class. Memorials preferred to St. Jude's or Arkansas Children's Hospital.
