Roy Mitchell Wilkey II

Roy Mitchell Wilkey II was born in Wilson, Arkansas, on April 11, 1946, son of Roy Mitchell and Mary Ellen (Eudy) Wilkey. He departed this life Sunday, March 30, 2014, at his home in Salem, Arkansas, at the age of 67 years, 11 months and 19 days. Roy was united in marriage to Sharon Kay Barber on April 15, 1966, in Joiner, Arkansas. He worked as a sprinkler pipe fitter in the construction industry for many years and was a member of Local Union 669. Mr. Wilkey was a member of the Wardell Baptist Church. Roy is survived by his wife Sharon of Salem, Arkansas; one daughter Wendy Hearn of Salem, Arkansas; one son Roy Mitchell Wilkey III of West Plains, Missouri; four grandsons, Roy Mitchell Wilkey IV, Shawn Wilkey, Noah Hearn and Luke Hearn; two sisters, Mary Moore of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Melba Castleman of Salem, Arkansas; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother John Wilkey. Funeral services will be held at Salem First Baptist Church Wednesday, April 2, 2014, 1:00 PM with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas, with services under direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem. Family will receive friends Tuesday, April 1, 2014, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Salem First Baptist Church. Memorials preferred to Salem First Baptist Church Building Fund, St. Jude's or Salem Baseball & Softball Association.
