Martha Irene Early

Martha Irene (Smith) Early was born in Sturkie, Arkansas, on October 19, 1925, daughter of George Thomas and Ruth Edith (Derr) Smith. She departed this life Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Arkansas, at the age of 88 years, 5 months and 27 days.Irene was united in marriage to Merle Hinton Early on January 21,1994, at Viola First Baptist Church. She was a factory worker in the computer industry for many years and of the Baptist faith.Irene is survived by one son Gene Evison of Kansas City, Missouri; two grandsons, Curtis Evison and Ronny Evison; four great grandchildren; special friends, Dale and Marilyn Fountain; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter-in-law Carolyn Evison; one sister Ida Warren and two brothers, Albert and Henry Smith.Memorial services were held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 17, 2014, at the Salem First Baptist Church in Salem, Arkansas, with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Barker Funeral Home of Salem.
