Hilda Louise Wert

Hilda Louise Wert was born on May 27, 1919, in Falls City, Nebraska, to Adolf and Mary (Fischer) Mack. She departed this life on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Arkansas, at the age of 94 years, 11 months and 16 days. Hilda was united in marriage on March 23, 1942, at San Diego, California, to Verne Wert. To this union four children were born and 50 years of marriage was celebrated. They were co-owners of Pendleton Body Shop for many years. Hilda was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Pendleton, Oregon, and active in Salem Methodist Church following her move to Arkansas in 1995. She enjoyed her family and always had a smile for everyone. Hilda is survived by son Don Wert of Folsom, California; two daughters, Norma Rice and husband Jerry of Viola, Arkansas, and Jane Koehler and husband Chuck of Bentonville, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Brenda Naugle, Sherry Wilkinson, Ryan Wert, Casey and Cory Miller; seven great grandchildren; sister Anna Bierman of Falls City, Nebraska; other relatives and friends. Hilda was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one daughter, Joyce Wert; sister Helen, and two brothers, Carl and Henry Mack. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 15, 2014, at 10:00 AM in Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem, Arkansas, with Rev. Cherie Baker officiating. Interment will be in the Olney Cemetery in Pendleton, Oregon. Arrangements entrusted to Barker Funeral Home. Memorials preferred to charity of your choice.
