Vickie Ann Ray

Vickie Ann Ray was born September 2, 1963, in Salem, Arkansas, to John Dudley and Rose Oleta (Russell) Ray. She departed this life Sunday, June 15, 2014, surrounded by her loving family and friends at her home in Menard, Texas, at the age of 50 years, 9 months and 13 days. Vickie was a loving mother, daughter, sister, Mimi, aunt and friend. She was a member of the Menard Church of Christ and her favorite verse was John 3:16. Vickie had a very loving and sentimental heart and she cherished spending time and making memories with family and friends. She will be missed by many. Vickie is survived by two daughters, Barbara Leigh Laughery of Crosby, Texas, and Autumn Skye Lester of Midland, Texas; one son James Brandon Lester of Baytown, Texas; four grandchildren, Taylor, Jaidyn, Sydnie and Kayson Laughery; her parents, John and Rose Ray of Salem, Arkansas; two sisters, Connie Delargy and husband James of Salem, Arkansas, and Beth Waltrip and husband Chris of Elizabeth, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Melissa Ray of Salem, Arkansas; several nieces, nephews, friends, (Cherry Rodriguez), and other family. She was preceded in death by her brother Douglas Joe Ray. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, June 20, 2014, at Salem Church of Christ in Salem, Arkansas, with Bro. Mike Yates officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas, with services entrusted to Barker Funeral Home of Salem. Pallbearers are Dustin Ray, Clint Ray, Lane Ray, Alex Waltrip, Chris Waltrip and Daniel Knight. John Ray is honorary pallbearer. Memorials may be left at the funeral home for the family.
