Ruth Montgomery

Ruth Bishop Montgomery was born in Heart, Arkansas, on January 5, 1931, the daughter of Ernest Ben and Gratis (Tharp) Bishop. She departed this life Thursday, September 10, 2015, at WRMC Medical Complex in Cherokee Village, Arkansas, at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 5 days. Ruth was united in marriage to Conway Montgomery on November 13, 1949, in Salem, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and of the Christian faith. Ruth was employed at Tri County Shirt Factory for several years and assisted Conway with everyday responsibilities on the farm. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Ruth is survived by one daughter, Connie Moore of Wiseman, Arkansas; two granddaughters, Jeana Moore and Gloria Moore, both of Wiseman, Arkansas; two sisters, Corean Shrable (Max Ray) of Gepp, Arkansas, and Wilma Cochran of Kenosha, Wisconsin; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one sister, Wanda Bishop; and five brothers, Clifford, Val, Ray, Marvin and E.G. Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 13, 2015, 2:00 PM in Barker Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Family will receive friends Saturday, September 12, 2015, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Wiseman Cemetery in Wiseman, Arkansas, with services entrusted to Barker Funeral Home of Salem. Pallbearers are Ray Gene Shrable, Jesse Shrable, Max Ray Shrable, Teddy Bishop, Dewayne Bishop and C.J. Bishop. Honorary pallbearers are Kenny Dill, Bob Parish, Terry Cochran, Lyle Bishop and Terry Dill.
