Helen Willene Gaston

Helen Willene (Evans) Gaston was born in Ash Flat, Arkansas, April 21, 1924, the daughter of Samuel Herbert and Margaret Jeanette (Duvall) Evans. She departed this life Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Crown Point Health and Rehab Center in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, at the age of 92 years, 1 month and 4 days. Willene was a homemaker and a member of the Franklin Church of Christ. She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. Willene is survived by son, Jimmy Don Hall of Franklin, Arkansas; two stepdaughters, Pam Canik (Paul) of Springfield, Louisiana, and Pat Billingsley (Steve) of Aubry, Texas; grandson, Wesley Hall (Tammy) of Franklin, Arkansas; sister, Luceile Williams of Franklin, Arkansas; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vaughn Gaston; grandson, Lesley Hall; three brothers, Elwood, Bill and Ray Evans; and her parents. Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 31, 2016, 11:00 AM at Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem, Arkansas, with Bro. Arthur Mauck officiating. Interment will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery at Violet Hill, Arkansas, with arrangements entrusted to Barker Funeral Home of Salem. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 31, from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Memorials preferred to Paragould Children's Home.
