Wylie Devurn Slagley

Wylie Devurn Slagley was born in Swifton, Arkansas, November 21, 1931, son of David Wylie and Mary Ann (Williford) Slagley. He departed this life Monday, June 20, 2016, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Arkansas, at the age of 84 years, 6 months and 30 days. Wylie was married to Vinita Lingo for 30 years. He was later united in marriage to Rhonda Miller for 24 years until her death on Christmas Day in 2010. Wylie was a member of Moko Church of Christ and was self employed as a farmer for many years. He will be missed by all who knew and truly loved him. Wylie is survived by three sons, Bobby Slagley (Jan) of Little Rock, Arkansas, Barry Abney (Amy) of Salem, Arkansas, and Duane Slagley of Hot Springs, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Jonathan Devurn Slagley and Brooklyn, Halle and Gracie Abney; many other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda Slagley; infant son, Tommy Slagley; grandson, Jeremy Slagley; his parents; and four brothers, Woodrow, Alfred, J.W. and Shelby. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 23, 2016, 3:00 PM at Salem Church of Christ in Salem, Arkansas, with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas, with arrangements entrusted to Barker Funeral Home of Salem. Family will receive friends Thursday, June 23, from 2:00 PM until service time at the church. Pallbearers are Rob Slagley, Robby Slagley, Layne Morgan, Mark Allen, Jonathan Slagley and David Slagley. John Parks will serve as honorary pallbearer.
