Author Lee Barber

Author Lee Barber, 78, of Wiseman, Arkansas passed from this life on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, in Batesville, Arkansas. Author was born November 1, 1942, to the late John Arch Barber and Jessie (Clements) Barber in Viola, Arkansas.

Author was united in marriage to Emma Jane Gibson on June 26, 1965, in Avondale, Missouri and to this union three sons were born. Author was a Southern Baptist Minister for over fifty years. He was a man of integrity, a Godly man who loved the Lord, and his greatest desire was to share the word of God with the people that he met. Author loved BIG and he was the leaning post and rock for his family. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He was serving as pastor at the First Baptist Church of Evening Shade, Arkansas.

He is remembered by his wife, Jane Barber of Wiseman, Arkansas; three sons, Joe Barber of Supply, Arkansas, Jon Barber and wife Jennifer of Cabot, Arkansas, and James Barber and wife Ginger of Sheridan, Arkansas; nine grandchildren, Samantha Broughton, Emma Barber, Paige Barber, Drew Barber, Brody Barber, Quaid Barber, Dylan Barber, Kaitlyn Barber Roxas, and James Levi Barber; seven great grandchildren, Elsee, Chase, Titus, Emmy, Auni, Tinley Roxas, and Falynn Broughton; one brother, J.D. Barber and wife Louise of Lee Summitt, Missouri; two sisters, Pat Cambron of Lee Summitt, Missouri and Wanda Cotter and husband Harold of Viola, Arkansas; many nieces and nephews; many other relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers (Loyd Barber, Duane Barber, and Junior Barber), and four sisters (Marie Tackitt, Fannie Painter, Essie Mabes, and Helen White).

Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday, October 16, 2021, at the Salem First Baptist Church in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. Rick Hassell and Bro. John Hodges officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 P.M. until time of service on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Salem First Baptist Church in Salem, Arkansas. Interment will be in the Wiseman Cemetery in Wiseman, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Brody Barber, Jay Barber, Quaid, Barber, Dylan Barber, Joey Smith, and John Andrews. In lieu of flowers donations may be may to the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
