Bettie Lou Lowery

Bettie Lou Lowery, age 84 of Cherokee Village, AR went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on June 29, 2025, after a life of service and kindness. During her career, Bettie taught languages and the Bible in College. Later in life, she and her colleague traveled together sharing the Word of the Lord Jesus Christ, distributing food to those in need, and writing monthly Christian newsletters that were mailed throughout 38 states. She will be sadly missed by those who knew her and loved her.

Bettie is preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, Robert Lanier Lowery, her parents Hubert and Mittie Thomas, sisters Lavern (Robert) Barkley and Delma (Jerry) Pitchford, and brother David (Stella) Thomas.

Funeral services will be held at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, AR, on Wednesday, July 2 (6:00 P.M.). Graveside services will be on Thursday, July 3 (11:00 A.M.), at Waynesville Memorial Park in Waynesville, MO.
