Betty Jean (Maguffee) Dihel

Betty Jean Dihel, 80, of Salem, Arkansas passed from this life on Thursday, January 6, 2022, in Salem, Arkansas. Betty was born April 11, 1941, in Salem, Arkansas to the late Luther Henry Maguffee and Lois Elizabeth (Skaggs) Maguffee.

Betty was united in marriage to Billy Eugene Dihel on March 19, 1965, in Salem, Arkansas. Betty spent thirty plus years working for the Salem School District, first as a teacher’s aide in the reading program and later as a cook in the cafeteria. She was loved by her co-workers and children whom she befriended along the way. She touched many lives during her time at Salem Schools and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She loved her girls and family dearly and was a member of the Salem Assembly of God Church. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend.

She leaves to mourn her passing, two daughters, Emily Greer (Tristan Rogers) of Salem, Arkansas and Abby Benke (Michael) of Salem, Arkansas; sister, Kathaleen Walling (George) of Salem, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Roberta Maguffee of Salem, Arkansas; many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband (Billy Dihel), daughter (Twylla Greer), son-in-law (Raymond Greer), parents (Luther and Lois Maguffee), and brother (Sonny Maguffee).

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 8, 2022, at the Salem Assembly of God Church in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. Josh Pardue officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 8, 2022, at the Salem Assembly of God Church in Salem, Arkansas. Interment will be at the Stateline Cemetery in Moko, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Henry Maguffee, Tristan Rogers, Calvin Maguffee, Rick Skaggs, Michael Benke, and Jeremy Skaggs. Honorary pallbearer is George Walling. Memorials may be made to the Salem Assembly of God Church in Salem, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home, LLC in Salem, Arkansas.
