Billy Jack Hammond

Billy Jack Hammond, age 85, of West Plains, Missouri departed this life on Monday, November 19, 2018 in West Plains, Missouri. He was born to the late W.S. Hammond and Roxie Mae (Workman) Hammond on March 28, 1933 in Viola, Arkansas.

Billy was united in marriage to Judy Lou Rader on June 5, 1987 in West Plains, Missouri. Billy retired from the International Shoe Factory where he worked as a sole layer. Billy was a farmer and attended the Curry Street Church of Christ in West Plains, Missouri. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

He leaves to mourn his passing; wife, Judy Hammond of West Plains, Missouri; three sons, Jackie Lyle Hammond of Sturkie, Arkansas, Kelly Hammond of Salem, Arkansas and Gary Haddock and wife (Heather) of Dora, Missouri; three daughters, Cathy McCartney and husband Jamie of Ferriday, Louisiana, Charlotte Collins and husband Terry of Willow Springs, Missouri and Paulette Lee and husband Jerry of Willow Springs, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren; sister, Maxine Hall of Salem, Arkansas; many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his son (Kyle D. Hammond), parents, three brothers (Tony, Abe and Lester), two sisters (Iva and Lorene) and niece (Bea).

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, November 23, 2018 at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas wit Bro. Larry Yarber officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 A.M. until time of service on Friday, November 23, 2018 at Barker Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas. Pallbearers are family and friends. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Paragould Children’s Home in Paragould, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
