Bonnie Cecile Gowins

Bonnie Cecile Gowins, 85, of Sturkie, Arkansas, departed this life on July 24, 2022, in Sturkie, Arkansas. Bonnie was born to Perley Claude Miner and Maude Beatrice (Stewart) Miner on May 2, 1937, in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Bonnie was united into marriage to James Lester Gowins, III on September 6, 1953, in South Carolina. Bonnie spent her working years as a salesman for S & H Green Stamps and was a member of the New Life Bible Church in Sanford, North Carolina. She loved to sing, play the piano, and participating in church activities. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.

Bonnie leaves to mourn her passing, son, Steven Mitchell Gowins and wife Cindy of Eagle, Alaska; daughter, Debbie Martin and husband Michael of Sturkie, Arkansas; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Hinnant of Sanford, North Carolina and Louise Miner of Statesboro, Georgia; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, daughter (Donna Matteson), and parents.

Services will be at a later date in North Carolina. Memorials may be made to the David Jeremiah’s Ministry.  Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
