Brenda Jean Bounds

Brenda Jean (Smith) Bounds, 78, of Salem, Arkansas was born June 30, 1941 to the late Harry G. and Elsie Marie (Ward) Smith in Lilbourn, Missouri. She departed this life on October 19, 2019 in Salem, Arkansas.

Brenda was united into marriage to Dyson Pinnion Bounds on June 29, 1958 in Desoto County, Mississippi and to this union six children were born. Brenda spent her working years as a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Brenda loved her children and grandchildren and they meant the world to her.

Brenda is survived by 3 sons, Randy P. Bounds of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Scott Bounds of St. Louis, Missouri and Terry Bounds of Mountain Home, Arkansas; 3 daughters, Brenda Kay Neal (Ewell) of Viola, Arkansas, Lisa Bounds of Omaha, Nebraska and Jennifer “Nikki” Jenkins (Joshua) of St. Louis, Missouri; 2 brothers, Herbert Smith of Caruthersville, Missouri and Truman Smith of Caruthersville, Missouri; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband (Dyson Pinnion Bounds), parents, 2 brothers (James and Armond) and 4 sisters (Shirley, Faye, Jesse and Sadie).

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas with Monte Neal officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday, October 21, 2019 at Barker Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Shiloh Cemetery in Alton, Missouri. Pallbearers are Scott Bounds, Terry Bounds, Daniel Murphy, Cody Gitzen, Joshua Jenkins, Eli Burton, Ewell Neal and Tim Williams. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Arrangements are entrusted to Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas.
