Brook Elaine (Wray) Smith

Brook Elaine (Wray) Smith, age 41, departed this life on Sunday, September 23, 2018 in Salem, Arkansas. She was born to Elwin Dean Wray and Teresa Luann (Huett) Wray on September 22, 1977 in Salem, Arkansas.

Brook was united in marriage to Stephen Howard Smith on December 9, 2017 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Brook worked at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas and at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee as a tech in heart surgery. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, aunt and was a member of the Viola First Baptist Church.

She leaves to mourn her passing; husband, Stephen Smith of Viola, Arkansas; parents, Elwin and Teresa Wray of Viola, Arkansas; two sisters, Brandi Meredith and husband Calvin of Viola, Arkansas and Breann Cowgill and husband Cass of Bexar, Arkansas; four nephews, Ethan Meredith, Caden Meredith, Gunner Cowgill and Tucker Cowgill; many other relatives and friends.

Brook is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Viola First Baptist Church in Viola, Arkansas with Bro. Steven Ring and Bro. John Hodges officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. Interment will be in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Bexar, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Casey Cowgill, Cass Cowgill, Caden Meredith, Randall Williams, Ethan Meredith and Jarrod Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Gunner Cowgill, Calvin Meredith and Tucker Cowgill. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
