Cecil Lavern Morris, 81, of Gepp, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024, in Salem, Arkansas. Cecil was born on November 17, 1942, in Vidette, Arkansas, to John Cecil Morris and Maxine Marie (Hagar) Morris. 

Cecil was united in marriage to Ethel Armelda Hall on February 3, 1968, in Elizabeth, Arkansas. Cecil served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Cecil worked for Tri County Shirt Company for about twenty years and then became a dairy farmer for twenty years. Milking at 3 AM and 3 PM daily, he only missed about 15 milkings during those twenty years. Cecil loved spending time with his family, pulling pranks and laughing. He was humble, hardworking, and dedicated to God, his family, and his work. He was a member of County Line Masonic Lodge #373 and was a member of the County Line Baptist Church in Gepp, Arkansas. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. 

Cecil leaves to mourn his passing, daughter, Cecilia Taylor and husband Billy of Viola, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Chelsea Brickey and husband Garrett of Salem, Arkansas and Leslie James and husband Wes of Viola, Arkansas; four great grandchildren, Kreet Brickey, Rhett James, Brynn Brickey, and Avery James; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife (Ethel Morris), great grandson (Wyatt James), parents, and two sisters (Lavenia Morris and Venita Morris). 

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. John Hodges and Bro. Garrett Brickey officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until time-of-service Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. The interment will be in the County Line Cemetery in Gepp, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Kevin Guffey, Jurel Guffey, Dave Carr, Brian Baker, Chris Cooper, and Kevin Baker. Honorary pallbearers will be Pat Baker and family, Linda Gay Hodges, Gwenda Belt, Tammy Wray, Deana Casteel, and Greg Todd. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
