Charles Wilb James

Charles Wilb James, 86, of Elizabeth, Arkansas passed from this life on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at Elizabeth, Arkansas. Wilb was born December 31, 1934, to Delford James and Eva Alice (Crotts) James at Elizabeth, Arkansas.

Wilb was united in marriage to Nelta Rhudeen Dockins on June 30, 1956, in Elizabeth, Arkansas and to this union five children were born. Wilb and Rhudeen had just celebrated 65 years of marriage. Wilb served his country in the United States Army and worked 30 years for the Arkansas State Highway Department, on the ferry at Lake Norfork, and the Mountain Home State Yard. Wilb loved hunting, fishing, and baseball. He taught his kids, grandkids, and neighbors how to play baseball and how to pitch. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, friend and was a member of the Elizabeth Church of Christ in Elizabeth, Arkansas.

Wilb leaves to mourn his passing, wife, Rhudeen James of Elizabeth, Arkansas; two sons, Chuck James of Elizabeth, Arkansas and Stan James and wife Kelly of Salem, Arkansas; three daughters, Evonda Cunningham and husband Bobby of Oxford, Arkansas, Kim Hutson and husband Barry of Byron, Arkansas, and Deana Baumunk of Elizabeth, Arkansas; fifteen grandchildren; one step grandchild; twenty four great grandchildren; two brothers, Jake James and wife Betty of Elizabeth, Arkansas and Rex James and wife Glenda of Dolph, Arkansas; sister, Erma Barnett and husband Gene of Batesville, Arkansas; many other relatives and friends.  Wilb was preceded in death by his parents, brother (Bob James), three sisters (Audene Barnett, Betty Sanders, and Linda King), and three infant siblings. 

Funeral services are 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 9, 2021 at Elizabeth Cemetery in Elizabeth, Arkansas with Bro. J.R. Camp officiating.  Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. until time of service on Friday, July 9, 2021 at Elizabeth Cemetery in Elizabeth, Arkansas. Interment will be in the Elizabeth Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the Grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the Grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Elizabeth Cemetery at Elizabeth, Arkansas.  Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
