Dale L. Coggins

Dale L. Coggins, 76, of Salem, Arkansas, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 in Salem, Arkansas. Dale was born on June 6, 1944 to Lawrence Coggins and Flodie Pauline (Dunkerson) Coggins in Agnos, Arkansas.

Dale was united in marriage to Phyllis Ann Smith on July 31, 1962 in Salem, Arkansas and to this union four children were born. Dale spent his working years as a steelworker with Northwestern Steel and Wire in Sterling, Illinois and as a truck driver. He also worked with his son at Joe’s Service and Tire in Salem, Arkansas. He loved spending time with his family and playing dominoes at Toby Hall’s Auto Sales.  He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.

Dale is survived by his wife, Phyllis Coggins of Salem, Arkansas; son, Joe Coggins and wife LaRay of Morriston, Arkansas; three daughters, Renae Busby and husband Rusty of Salem, Arkansas, Kelly Beers and husband Al of Mountain Home, Arkansas and Jessica Brown and husband Jason of Salem, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Christina Cooper (Joey), Nick Busby, Brittany Busby, Josh Coggins (Savannah), Hailey Coggins, Braden Morris, Tracker Brown and Cole Beers; six great grandchildren; sister, Donna Hall of Salem, Arkansas; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, great granddaughter (Shelby Cheyenne Cooper), daughter-in-law (Tamara Coggins) and brother-in-law (Toby Hall).

Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Friday, July 24, 2020 at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. Josh Pardue officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 P.M. until time of service on Friday, July 24, 2020 at Barker Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Flora Cemetery in Viola, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Joe Coggins, Josh Coggins, Al Beers, Braden Morris, Rusty Busby, Jason Brown, and Nick Busby. Honorary pallbearers are Bruce Springstun, Everett Howard, Chuck Howard, Don McBride, Jim Howard, and Joey Cooper. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
