Della Bridges

Della (Javaux) Bridges, age 98, of Salem departed this life on Friday, November 9, 2018 in Salem, Arkansas. She was born to the late Victor Ferdinand Javaux and Sena Ann (Copple) Javaux on February 23, 1920 in Moko, Arkansas.

Della was united in marriage to Austin Lee Bridges on January 10, 1942 in Sturkie, Arkansas and to this union four children were born. Della worked as a “Rosie the Riveter” and various other jobs in an aircraft factory during World War II. She also was a substitute teacher at Moko School, a farmer and a homemaker. Della was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, and friend. She attended the Salem Assembly of God Church.

She leaves to mourn her passing; son, Rodney Bridges of Mountain Home, Arkansas; three daughters, Patricia Gail Bridges of Salem, Arkansas, Judy Fowler of Beebe, Arkansas and Brenda Smith and husband Keevin of Camp, Arkansas; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband (Austin Lee Bridges), grandson (Wyatt Austin Smith), parents (Victor and Sena Javaux), three brothers (Rufus, Theodore and Charlie Javaux) and three sisters (Pearl Smith, Lorene Spangler and Dorothy Maguffee).

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. Winford Franks officiating. Pallbearers are Samuel Taylor, Jon Fowler, Michael Beard, Travis Derrick, Steven Fowler and Danny Moore. Interment will be in the Stateline Cemetery in Moko, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to the Stateline Cemetery Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
