Dewey Castle Cawvey, 77, of Salem, Arkansas, passed away on March 5, 2026, at Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was born on July 28, 1948, in Manila, Arkansas, to Charley Dave Cawvey and Bessie Evelyn (Wallace) Cawvey.
Dewey spent his working years as a truck driver, a career that reflected his strong work ethic and dedication. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. A man of faith, Dewey was of the Church of Christ faith.
Above all else, Dewey cherished his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially fishing and hunting, and spending time with those he loved most.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Cawvey of the home; two sons, John David Cawvey (Selina) of Salem, Arkansas, and Lewis Kindrick Cawvey (Becky) of Salem, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Starla, Tyler (Alina), Izzac (Samantha), Dakota (Myra), and Kaitlynn; and seven great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Gracie, Lindsey, Amilia, Leona, Paisley, and Laken. He is also survived by his brother, John Rex Cawvey (Diana) of Salem, Arkansas; sister, Jo Ann Graves of Bellefonte, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charley Dave and Bessie Evelyn Cawvey, and two sisters, Faye and Evelyn.
No services are scheduled at this time.
Memorials may be made to Disabled Veterans.
Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
