Dortha Doris Logan

Dortha Doris Logan, daughter of the late Pearl and Charlie Ratliff, was born March 7, 1926 in Taft, California. She departed this life on November 2, 2018 at her residence in Viola, Arkansas.

Doris moved with her family to Arkansas when she was 12 and there met her future husband, Cleamon Hively. She became a military wife, moving with her spouse’s assignments. After the birth of their fourth child, they divorced and Doris moved back to Arkansas to raise her four children.

Doris married Eric Logan on July 22, 1970 and made a home in North Little Rock. She and Eric were soul mates sharing a love of dancing, ceramic making, fishing, and were avid rock hounds. She loved making jewelry from their many mineral finds.

Doris was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She had a happy generous spirit, always seeking gifts for everyone around her. She always began Christmas shopping the day after Christmas so that she would be ready for the next year. She loved making people happy.

Her passing is mourned by her children Doyle and Vicki Hively of Viola, Arkansas, Kathy and Wayne Nielsen of Meeker, Colorado, Charlene and Ray Honeycutt of Pineville, Arkansas, her grandchildren, Cory Nielsen, Donnesa Parker, April Hively, Cass Cherry, Tanya Miller, Jessica Shrable, Rachel Crawford, Ian Cherry, and the apple of her eyes, her seventeen great grandchildren, her beloved church family and a great host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eric Logan, son, Donald Hively, parents, two brothers, Dean and Doyle Ratliff, and her sister, Laudie Mae Ratliff. Her sweet spirit will be greatly missed here, but we know Heaven is rejoicing as she rests in the arms of her Savior.

Memorial services will be 4:00 P.M. Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Viola Solid Rock Assembly of God Church in Viola, Arkansas with Bro. Allen Cartwright officiating. Visitation will be 3:00 P.M. until time of service on November 10, 2018 at Viola Solid Rock Assembly of God Church in Viola, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to the Wild Cherry Cemetery Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
