Emilia (Sokolowski) Roberts

Emilia “Millie” (Sokolowski) Roberts, 99, of Bartlett, Tennessee, formerly of Salem, Arkansas passed from this life on Friday, May 15, 2020 in Collierville, Tennessee. Emilia was born July 29, 1920 to the late Joseph Sokolowski and Louise (Turowski) Sokolowski in Clove Valley, New York.

Emilia was united in marriage to Lloyd Alvin Roberts in Peekskill, New York on January 24, 1970. Emilia worked at Blue Bell Jeans for 25 years and later did secretarial work with Readers Digest. Emilia enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading and was a member of Salem First Baptist Church in Salem, Arkansas. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, aunt, and friend.

Emilia is survived by her sister, Constance Lahey of New Paltz, New York; brother, Joseph Sokoloski and wife Joyce of Staatsburg, New York; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, five sisters and three brothers.

Graveside services will be 9:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at the Salem Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Memorials may be made to the Salem First Baptist Church Building Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
