Eula Mae (Smith) Godwin, 89, of Salem, Arkansas departed from this life on February 14, 2021, at Salem, Arkansas. Eula Mae was born November 4, 1931 to Wesley Grinsley Smith and Pearl (Miller) Smith at Sidney, Arkansas.
Eula Mae was united into marriage to Donald Dean Godwin on March 28, 1952 in Evening Shade, Arkansas. Eula Mae spent her working years as a homemaker as well as helping Donald on the farm. Eula Mae was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and family was everything to her. She loved going to ballgames, traveling, and was a member of the Salem First Baptist Church. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.
Eula Mae leaves to mourn her passing, two daughters, Gwenda Godwin and husband Richard Irby of Salem, Arkansas and Donna York of Salem, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Haley Lynn Montgomery of Barton Lexa, Arkansas, Zachary Joel Montgomery of Salem, Arkansas, Dusty York and wife Lyndsay of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, and Dylan York of Salem, Arkansas; four great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. Eula Mae is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister (Wilda Faye Johnson), and niece (Rejeana Faye Johnson).
Funeral services will be Friday, 10:00 A.M., February 19, 2021 at the Salem First Baptist Church in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 A.M. until time of service on Friday, February 19, 2021 at the Salem First Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Agnos Cemetery in Agnos, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Zachary Joel Montgomery, Haley Lynn Montgomery, Dusty Layne York, Dylan York, Richard Irby, and Debbie Hobbs. Honorary pallbearers will be Stacey Robbins, Jim Godwin, and Doris Godwin. Memorials may be made to the Salem First Baptist Church or to the Agape Room. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
Please be mindful of our social distancing guidelines. We will have hand sanitizing stations set up at all entrances and exits and with the register book. Signs will be posted as well.
