George Leonard Thomas

George Leonard Thomas, 71, of Salem, Arkansas departed this life on Thursday, May 16, 2019 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. George was born to the late Leonard Thomas and Sue Hardy Thomas on January 23, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois.

George was united in marriage to Jimalee Clark on February 14, 1975 in Dallas, Texas and to this union three children were born. George spent his working years as a CPA for 40 years. George also loved spending time on his farm and with his family. George was an alumnus of the University of Arkansas and was an avid Razorback fan. George was a member of the Salem First Baptist Church in Salem, Arkansas. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.

George leaves to mourn his passing; wife, Jimalee Thomas of Salem, Arkansas; son, Stephen Thomas and wife Lexie of Rogers, Arkansas; daughter, Amanda Thomas Roland and husband Joey of Greenwood, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Kelsey Roland, Avery Roland, Braxton Baker and Blakeley Thomas; three sisters, Patricia Acker and husband Steve; Kathy Petross and husband Ivan and Suzy Rogers and husband Tommy; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his son (Mark Thomas), parents (Leonard and Sue Thomas) and brother (Steve Kiss).

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Salem First Baptist Church in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Monday, May 20, 2019 at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. Interment will be in the Camp Cemetery in Camp, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Joey Roland, Joe Neal, Keith Riemer, Stephen Thomas, Larry Calcatera and Tom Doty. Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Roberts, Robert McCoy and Mike Calcatera. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
