Gerald ‘Jerry’ Vernon Lindblom, 90, of Viola, Arkansas, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on February 27, 2026. He was born on March 8, 1935 in Robbinsdale, Minnesota to Vernon and Dorolese (Rivers) Lindblom.
Jerry went to Robbinsdale High School, class of ’53, where he was very active in Drama. He loved music and had a lovely tenor singing voice. He was often asked to sing in Weddings and in the church choir.
As a child he spent many weekends at his grandparent’s cabin on Big Sandy Lake where his love of the outdoors first took root. Jerry organized many canoe trips to the Boundary Waters, creating lasting memories for friends and family.
Jerry started his career as a cabinet maker and spent his life crafting beautiful cabinets and furniture. His creative, artistic side played a large role in his success. Outside the workshop, Jerry was happiest watching sports, spending time outdoors, and being with his family. He was a man who valued the simple things—fresh air, good conversation, and a game worth rooting for. Jerry served his country in the United States National Guard for six years and was a member of the Salem First Baptist Church.
Jerry is survived by his devoted wife, Judy Lindblom (Chapman) of 42 years; his sister and brother-in-law, Nancy (Lindblom) and Larry LaTourneau; his children, Ann Elliott, Gustave Lindblom, and Seth Lindblom (Tawni); and his many grandchildren: Tessa Lindblom, Anna Lindblom, Matthew Russell (Christina), Erin Russell, Brenen Lindblom, Eli Lindblom, Kendal Lindblom, Nolan Stoots, and Mila Abshire. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Craig and Robert Lindblom, and daughter-in-law (Lynn Lindblom).
He never missed a chance to show up, whether it was a basketball game, a practice, or a moment when someone needed him. His unwavering faith guided him always.
Jerry’s love for his family, his craftsmanship, and the outdoors shaped a legacy that will endure through the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed. Rest in peace ‘Big Jer’
