Gladys Estelle Mullens

July 27, 1926 — September 22, 2021

Gladys Estelle Mullens, 95, of Salem, Arkansas passed from this life on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, in Salem, Arkansas. Estelle was born July 27, 1926, in Alexandria, Louisiana to Allen G. Wilmore and Bessie Lea (Brown) Wilmore.

Estelle married Marion O. Mullens in Alexandria, Louisiana on August 6, 1945, and to this union two daughters were born.   Estelle worked at many things throughout her life, homemaker, civil service, as an agent and accountant for H & R Block, and as owner of a Bible bookstore in Melbourne, Arkansas.  Estelle also enjoyed cooking, canning, and was an avid gardener.  Estelle loved her Lord, her church, and thoroughly enjoyed the time she spent setting up the library at Salem First Baptist Church.  She was a wonderful Godly mother and taught her girls to trust God for the hard times as well as the good times.  Her legacy is that all her descendants and their spouses and children are now safe in Jesus.  She will see them all again.  She loved her brothers and sisters and always sent cards on their birthdays and told them about Jesus.   She prayed for her whole family daily and wanted them all to have a personal relationship with Jesus.  She was a good friend and neighbor and often did without for herself to give and help others.  She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, aunt, friend, and was a member of Salem First Baptist Church.

Estelle is survived by her daughter, Gwyndolyn Hutchins of Salem, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Felicia Bruyette (David) of Harrison, Idaho and Andrea Long (Chip) of Springdale, Arkansas; three great grandchildren, Brittany Snow (Gregg) of Post Falls, Idaho, Megan Bruyette of Harrison, Idaho, and J. T. Long of Springdale, Arkansas; three great great grandchildren, Asher Snow, Ava Snow, and Michael David Bruyette; two brothers, Tommy Wilmore of Alexandria, Louisiana and Charles Wilmore (Helen) of Pineville, Louisiana; two sisters, Juanita Roy (Gerald) of Hesmer, Louisiana and Evelyn Brazzel of Houghton, Louisiana; two sisters-in-law, Helen Wilmore of Alexandria, Louisiana and Betty Mullens of LaMarque, Texas; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her husband (Marion O. Mullens), parents (Allen and Bessie Wilmore), stepmother (Sabine Wilmore), daughter (Beverly J. Mullens), three brothers (Buddy Wilmore, Eugene Wilmore, and Francis Wilmore), and two sisters (Virginia Miller and Helen Burnham).
