Herbert Lee Cowper, Sr.

Herbert Lee Cowper, Sr., 91, of Oxford, Arkansas departed this life on Monday, June 24, 2019 in Oxford, Arkansas. Herbert was born to the late Frederick Cowper and Anna (Sanderson) Cowper on November 8, 1927 in Lincoln Park, Michigan.

Herbert was united in marriage to Dorothy Criner. Herbert spent his working years as a train operator in a steel mill. Herbert served his country in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather and friend.

Herbert leaves to mourn his passing; two sons, Ronald Lee Cowper and wife Denise of Ash Fork, Arizona and Robert Lee Cowper and wife Donna of Ash Fork, Arizona; daughter, Nancy Jones and husband Lester of Oxford, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brother, David Cowper and wife Elaine of Trenton, Michigan; sister, Carol Toporek and husband Gregory of Brownstown, Michigan; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, brother (Richard) and two sisters (Ruth and Esther).
