Hilda Dean Allmon

April 16, 1924 — May 13, 2021

Hilda Dean (McMullin) Allmon, 97, of Salem, Arkansas passed from this life on May 13, 2021 at Salem, Arkansas. Hilda was born April 16, 1924 in Hickman, Kentucky to Gaither McMullin and Ada McMullin.

Hilda was united in marriage to Ralph Warren Allmon on April 5, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri. Hilda was a remarkable woman with the gift of organization and compassion. Throughout her life, as a pastor's wife, she helped develop multiple Baptist churches throughout Southeastern and Northern parts of the United States. While she often stood in the shadow of Ralph's accomplishment's, her sense of business and organizations made those accomplishments possible. She understood her role and played the part throughout the entirety of her life; one of which was "mothering'. She gave birth to three children that resulted in many, many grand and great grandchildren and the tentacles of this motherhood will continue for years and possibly centuries. Hilda was blessed and most importantly she was a blessing to us all. Her compassion and love will sorely be missed but today Heaven is a richer place. Ralph and Hilda again together, what a beautiful way to say good-by for now.

She leaves to mourn her passing, son, Roger Allmon and wife Audrey of Memphis, Tennessee; two daughters, Sherry Stevens and husband Bruce of Rock Falls, Illinois and Debbie Mooers and husband Gary of Maui, Hawaii; many grandchildren; many great grandchildren; Sue Walden of Dallas, Texas; Marlene McMullin of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; and many relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband (Ralph Allmon) , parents, two brothers (Lynn McMullin and Roger McMullin), and two sisters (Charlotte Newman and Mary Kay Pierce).

Private family services were held May 18, 2021 at Evening Shadow's Memorial Park Cemetery in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
