Jan Elizabeth (Horton) Propes

Jan Elizabeth (Horton) Propes, 80, of Heber Springs, Arkansas departed this life on October 31, 2019 in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Jan was born to the late Lloyd Frank Horton and Bertie Ruth (Cox) Horton on April 15, 1939 in Viola, Arkansas.

Jan was united into marriage to Bobby Gene Propes on June 18, 1961 in Viola, Arkansas and to this union three children were born. Jan spent thirty plus years in education as a Typing, Business, and English teacher and was of the Baptist faith. Jan enjoyed cooking, visiting grandchildren, and making photo albums of her family. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

She leaves to mourn her passing; son, Mark Propes (Susie Jackson) of Bentonville, Arkansas; daughter, Michelle Lipford (David) of Nashville, Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Karen Propes of Knoxville, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Zack, Will, Caleigh, KariBeth, and Adam; brother, Gay Horton (Tammy) of Heber Springs, Arkansas; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband (Bobby), son (Brent), parents, and sister (Sue Faulkenberry).

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas with Johnny Carter officiating. Visitation will be 1:30 P.M. until time of service on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Barker Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Mt. Calm Cemetery in Viola, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be the 1985 Highland Rebels. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas.
