JB McKnight

JB McKnight, 91, of Salem, Arkansas departed this life on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Salem, Arkansas. He was born to the late Owen McKnight and Mary (Mosey) McKnight on January 22, 1927 in Little Rock, Arkansas.

JB was united in marriage to Cecile Polk on July 2, 1948 in Lepanto, Arkansas. JB spent his working years as a truck driver and served his country in the United States Army during World War II. JB loved reading books, working outside and was a handyman who could fix anything. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather and friend.

JB leaves to mourn his passing; wife, Cecile McKnight of Salem, Arkansas; three sons, Bobby McKnight of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, Darrell McKnight of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Dan McKnight of Salem, Arkansas; five daughters, Linda Wiegmann of Geneva, Florida, Beverly McKnight of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, Debra Swary of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, Darlene Ojeda of Ft. Smith, Arkansas and Lisa McKnight of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; thirteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brother, Jimmy McKnight of Cleveland, Mississippi; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, two daughters (Barbara McKnight and Norma Jean McKnight), one son (Thomas McKnight), five brothers, one grandson (Joel Wiegmann) and granddaughter (Rachel Cummins).

Visitation services will be held at 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
