Jimmie James

Jimmie James, 82, of Elizabeth, Arkansas departed this life on September 19, 2019 at Calico Rock, Arkansas. Jimmie was born to the late James Elmer James and Alpha (Smith) James on September 4, 1937 in Elizabeth, Arkansas.

Jimmie was united in marriage to Wilma Dockins on June 19, 1959 in Elizabeth, Arkansas and to this union two sons were born. Jimmie spent his working years as a bus driver for Viola Schools for 40 plus years and as a farmer.  Jimmie loved to hunt and fish and attended the Elizabeth Church of Christ in Elizabeth, Arkansas.  He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Jimmie leaves to mourn his passing; wife, Wilma James of Elizabeth, Arkansas; 2 sons, Joey James and wife Vickie of Lead Hill, Arkansas and Andy James of Elizabeth, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Jessica James, Kelsey James,  Corby James and James Rowan James; sister, Sue Young and husband Donald Ray of Flower Mound, Texas; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers (Oneil “Danny” James and Jerry James), and 2 sisters (Patsy Doak and Betty Jo James).

Funeral services will be Sunday, September 22, 2019, 2:00 PM at the Elizabeth Church of Christ in Elizabeth, Arkansas. Visitation will be Saturday, September 21, 2019, 6-8 PM at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.  Interment will be in the Elizabeth Cemetery in Elizabeth, Arkansas under the direction of Barker Funeral Home.  Pallbearers are Joey James, Andy James, Johnny James, Corby James, Rowan James and Jackie Comstock.  Memorials may be made to Paragould Children’s Homes, Inc., 5515 Walcott Road, Paragould, Arkansas, 72450. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
