JL Smith, 94, of Salem, Arkansas passed from this life on Friday, October 22, 2021, in Salem, Arkansas. JL was born April 18, 1927, to George Bathus Smith and Rosa (Sublett) Smith in Hickory Grove, Oklahoma.

JL was united in marriage to Wilma R. Williams on April 13, 1948, in Southfork, Missouri.  JL worked as a farmer for many years and was a great father and loved his family.  He was a member of the Mitchell Assembly of God Church in Mitchell, Arkansas.  JL was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.

JL leaves to mourn his passing, wife, Wilma Smith of Salem, Arkansas; two sons, Guy Smith of Salem, Arkansas and Darrell Smith and wife Kelley of Salem, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Misty, Ashleigh, Garrett, and Alex; three great grandchildren, Max, Garand, and J.L.; sister, Velma Smith of Salem, Arkansas; many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister (Faye Knapp).

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, October24, 2021, at the Mitchell Cemetery in Mitchell, Arkansas with Bro. Steve Neal officiating.  Interment will be in the Mitchell Cemetery in Mitchell, Arkansas.  Pallbearers will be Guy Smith, Darrell Smith, Bruce Knapp, Roy Knapp, Garrett Smith, and Alex Smith.  Memorials may be made to the Mitchell Assembly of God Church or to the Mitchell Cemetery Association.    Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home, LLC in Salem, Arkansas.
