John Rex Hall

John Rex Hall, 63, of Salem, Arkansas, lost his battle with multiple myeloma on Monday, July 13, 2020 in Salem, Arkansas. John Rex was born on July 31, 1956 to Johnson Hall and Wilma Maxine (Hammond) Hall in Salem, Arkansas.

John Rex was united in marriage to Mary Alyce Whitmer on August 23, 1974 and to this union a beautiful son was born. John Rex spent most of his working years as a mechanic and later owned and operated Hall’s Garage for over twenty years. John Rex served two terms as the justice of the peace (District 4) for Fulton County, served many years with the Salem Volunteer Fire Department and later served on the Sturkie Volunteer Fire Department Board. John Rex loved to hunt, fish, and restore old trucks. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend and attended the Salem First Baptist Church in Salem, Arkansas.

John Rex is survived by his wife, Mary Hall of Salem, Arkansas; granddaughter, Ashley Hall of Conway, Arkansas; brother, Roger Hall of Sturkie, Arkansas; brother-in-law, Charles Whitmer (Kathy) of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; sister, Wilma Crouch of Wiseman, Arkansas; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother (Jerry Hall) and brother-in-law (Bennie Crouch).

Graveside Services will be 9:00 A.M. Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Flora Cemetery in Viola, Arkansas with Rev. Brien Hall officiating. He will lie in state from 1:00 P.M. until 4:30 P.M. Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Jim Broyles, Kelly Hammond, Paul Garrison, Mark Reeves, Chris Hall, Jim Billinger, and Larry Hammond. Honorary pallbearers are Randy Robinson, Steve Garrison, and Jerry Allen. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
