Joy Faye Kersey

Joy Faye (Tucker) Kersey, 85, of Glencoe, Arkansas passed from this life on Saturday, April 18, 2020 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Joy was born June 10, 1934 to the late Earl M. Tucker and Una Faye (Isenhower) Tucker in Paris, Texas.

Joy was united in marriage to Gale Dean Kersey on September 12, 1954 in Salem, Arkansas and to this union two children were born. Joy worked as a church secretary in Memphis, Tennessee for many years.  Joy loved gardening and sharing what she grew with others. Joy was known as a very good cook and loved helping take care of others. Joy was a member of the Salem Church of Christ in Salem, Arkansas. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.

Joy is survived by her husband, Gale Kersey of the home; son, Michael Dean Kersey and wife Lacinda of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; daughter, Joy Michelle Betts and husband Rodney of Collierville, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Kimberly Owsley and husband Thomas, Kinsey McCutchen and husband Jake, Sarah Cochran and husband Kib, Katie Norrid and husband Kyle, Katylyn Aboukheir and husband Rabih, and Kamille Martin and husband Brennon; twelve great grandchildren; brother, John Max Tucker and wife Allene of Sherman, Texas; sister, Carolyn Bowman of Searcy, Arkansas; many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents (Earl and Faye Tucker), two brothers (Toppie Tucker and Theo Tucker), and sister (Patsy Parker).

Memorial Service for Joy F. Kersey will be held on Saturday, June 27 at Salem Church of Christ in Salem, Arkansas.  Visitation will start at 1:00 followed by a Memorial Celebration of her wonderful life.

Due to gathering restrictions, this will be limited to local residents and immediate family only.  Those in attendance are asked to follow social distancing seating and facemasks will be required. Memorials may be made to the Agape Food Room in Salem, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
