Kawanda Gracie Jane (Isenhower) Benton, 92, of Ft. Worth, Texas departed this life on Monday, February 25, 2019 at Ft. Worth, Texas. She was born to the late John Dee Isenhower and Birchie Florence (Stephens) Isenhower on June 8, 1926 in Salem, Arkansas.
Kawanda was united in marriage to John Dee Benton on February 24, 1946 in Alton, Missouri and to this union two children were born. Kawanda spent her working years as a homemaker and was a member of the Church of Christ. Kawanda loved cooking for her family, flowers and working with her flowers. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend.
Kawanda leaves to mourn her passing; two daughters, Brenda Westbrook and husband Lee of Ft. Worth, Texas and Sharilu Brown and husband Anthony of Mountain Home, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Mary Rather and husband Blake of Ft. Worth, Texas, Paul Westbrook and wife Karol of Ft. Worth, Texas and Sarah Roach and husband Steve of Bella Vista, Arkansas; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother and six sisters.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. David Gibson officiating. Interment will be in the Salem, Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Steve Benton, Gale Kersey, Jerry Overman, Dwight Smith, Shad Overman, Jake Benton and Bobbie Moody. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association and Christ Haven Children’s Home (4200 Keller Haslet Road, Keller, Texas 76244). Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
