Kelly Gene Batterton

Kelly Gene Batterton, 62, of Glencoe, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Kelly was born on December 13, 1961, to Jewell Kay Batterton and Barbara Gene (Schaufler) Batterton. 
  
Kelly was united in marriage to Dana Michelle Moss (Wifey) on May 25, 1985, in Glencoe, Arkansas and to this union, two sons were born. Kelly found a way to add fun to anything he did and had a passion for finding joy in life. He adored spending time with his family and often cooked for them. Kelly loved to entertain with his singing abilities and had a mischievous sense of humor. Kelly also enjoyed hunting and fishing, where he made many lifelong friends through the years enjoying these pastimes. He had a passion for baseball and his favorite team was the St. Louis Cardinals, as well as the Kansas City Chiefs in football, and the Arkansas Razorbacks (sometimes).

Kelly served the public for 35 years as an Insurance Agent for Fulton County. He was a long-time member of the Salem Church of Christ in Salem, Arkansas where he enjoyed leading devotionals and teaching classes. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was well loved and will be truly missed.

Kelly leaves to mourn his passing wife, Dana Batterton of the home; two sons, Derek Batterton (Emily Brosius) of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Tyler Batterton of Glencoe, Arkansas; mother, Barbara Batterton of Viola, Arkansas; brother, Mike Batterton (Duana) of Viola, Arkansas; sister, Teresa Walker (Scott) of Elizabeth, Arkansas; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father (Jewell Batterton), brother (Ronnie Kay Batterton), grandparents, and Jeb his beloved Brittany Spaniel.  

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. David Gibson and Luke Humphries officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until time of service on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. Interment will be in the Mt. Calm Cemetery in Viola, Arkansas. The pallbearers will be Zachary Hudson, Kyle Moss, Shepherd Humphries, Tate Batterton, K.C. Moss, Luke Humphries, Kohl Batterton, and Kasey Humphries. Honorary pallbearers will be his hunting and fishing buddies. Memorials may be made to Romania Mission Valley View Church of Christ in Jonesboro, Arkansas and Mazatlan Mission, Salem Church of Christ in Salem, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
