Laura Ida Fountain

Laura Ida Fountain, age 89, of Salem, Arkansas was born on May 18, 1928 in Albion, Michigan, daughter of Nelson J. and Maude B. (Young) Passmore. She departed this life on Sunday, September 3, 2017 in Salem, Arkansas.   Laura married Lawrence S. Fountain on September 9, 1946 in Marshall, Michigan and to this union five sons were born. Laura was a homemaker, worked various jobs and helped out on the family farm. She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and was of the Assembly of God faith.   Laura is survived by her four sons; David Fountain and wife Mary of Marshall, Michigan, Dale Fountain and wife Marilyn of Salem, Arkansas, Morris Fountain of Plover, Wisconsin and Lawrence Fountain,Jr. of Princeton, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Gene), Melissa, Sarah (Estill), Valarie (Nathan), Meagan (Dayne), Austin D.J., Renee and Andrea (Zach); ten great grandchildren with two more on the way; one great great grandchild and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and an infant son.   Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. Winfred Franks officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 A.M. until time of service on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Barker Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas. Pallbearers are D.J. Fountain, Estill Hamilton, Gene Snook, Meredith Wright, Mike Dover, Albert Roork and Roy Ribitzki. Honorary Pallbearers are Logan Best, Clifton Wright, Blaine Wright, Joy Goff and Bobby Sanders. Memorials may be made to the Fairview Cemetery Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas.
