Lea Golden McCullough passed away peacefully at home September 18, 2024. Lea was born December 2,1929 in Elizabeth, AR to Floyd and Bertha Davis. She was united in marriage to Lindel McCullough in 1950 and lived nearly the entirety of her life on the family farm near Salem, AR.

Survivors are sons David McCullough (Crata) of Little Rock and Kenny McCullough (Cindy) of Salem, daughters Vicki McCullough (Roger) of Parker, TX, Joyce Taylor (Johnny) and Carol Stephens (Witt) both of Little Rock. Her grandchildren include Miles, Claire, Flint (Maranda) and Jody McCullough (Mason), Sarah Clairday (Josh), Michael (Marcia) and Les Taylor (Kristy), Arden and Witt Stephens III (Emily) and great grandchildren Lilly, Cord, Austin, Eli, Riley, Quincy, Asher, Alley, Atlyn, Kolby, Kade and Harlo. She is survived by sister, Levone Williams, many loved nieces, nephews and close friends. Visitation will be at the Barker Funeral Home, September 22, 6:00-8:00 pm and graveside service Monday, September 23, 10:00 am, at the Salem Cemetery.

Lea lived her Christian faith in a loving, selfless manner devoting her life to God and caring for her husband and five children while staying busy with the challenges of farm life. She lived humbly and cared deeply for her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and lifelong friends. She was a gentle mother, stern when needed, and known for her quiet patience. Her family fondly remembers her excellent cooking skills and treasure the time together over family meals. Sunday dinners in the traditional grand style will never be forgotten. She excelled in the now fading skill of seamstress. Her daughters especially benefited enabling them to have dresses for Easter and many other occasions when they otherwise would not have been as well clothed. Music was a joy of her life and she encouraged and paid for her children to have lessons.

Much appreciation is due her beloved caregivers Connie Pate and Tammy Tyler.

Memorials may be made to Salem First Baptist Church.

Pallbearers are Scott Walker, Josh Heffington, Witt Stephens III, Robbie Davis, Mason Duff, Flint McCullough, and Miles McCullough.

In loving memory, forever in our hearts.
