Linda Sue Billings

Linda Sue (Batterton) Billings, 74, of Viola, Arkansas passed from this life on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 in Mountain Home, Arkansas.  Sue was born September 30, 1946 to Loyd Rennie Batterton and Beulah Arenda (Emery) Batterton in Kansas City, Missouri.

Sue was married to Howard Ray Billings on March 26, 1966 in Viola, Arkansas.  Sue spent her working years as a nursing home administrator.  Sue loved to paint, garden, cook, watch old westerns, and spend time with her family.  Sue especially loved her grandchildren and spending her every minute with them. Some of her favorite times were watching them play in her pool, teaching them to bake, planting flowers with her, working in her yard, and especially riding the golf cart around in her yard with the kids and listening to all their little giggles. Sue was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, friend and was a member of the Viola Church of Christ in Viola, Arkansas.

Sue leaves to mourn her passing, two daughters, Shelly Newberry of Viola, Arkansas and Lynn Martin of Viola, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Shira Turner and husband Collyn, Sadie Martin and Eli Martin; two great grandchildren, Shylar and Canyon Turner; two sisters, Janette Schlie and husband Gary of Independence, Missouri and Pam Burns and husband Larry of Viola, Arkansas; four brothers, Jack Batterton of Viola, Arkansas, Jewell Batterton and wife Barbara of Viola, Arkansas, Jim Batterton of Viola, Arkansas and Hoppy Batterton of Viola, Arkansas;  many other relatives and friends.  Sue is preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters (Wanda Guffey and Wilma Dean Brown) and brother (Smokey Batterton).

Due to Covid-19 and the flu season the family is having private services and they ask for everyone to please respect their wishes. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.  Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
