Lois Kay Allen, 94, of Viola, Arkansas, went home to be with her Lord on December 22, 2025, at Ash Flat, Arkansas. She was born on October 5, 1931, in Ontario, New York, to Clark and Sadie McCarty.
Lois lived a life rooted deeply in faith, love, and service to others. A strong and devoted Christian, she was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Houston, Texas. Her faith guided every aspect of her life, and she found joy in sharing God’s word, offering encouragement, and quietly helping those around her. Lois’s strength, resilience, and gentle spirit were an inspiration to all who knew her.
She spent her working years lovingly caring for children as a nanny, treating each child as if they were her own. Her nurturing heart extended far beyond her work, as her greatest joy in life was her family. Lois treasured time spent with her loved ones—especially during holidays and special family gatherings—creating memories filled with laughter, warmth, and love.
Lois enjoyed sitting outside in the sunshine, taking comfort in the beauty of God’s creation. Whether sharing stories, celebrating milestones, or simply being present, she made those around her feel cherished and valued. She was a devoted mother, a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, and a faithful friend whose love will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Allen (Monica) and Richie Allen, both of Viola, Arkansas; her grandchildren, Sadye Allen of Houston, Texas, and Jessi Allen (Aneliya) of Bexar, Arkansas; her great-grandchildren, Emma Allen, Freddie Allen, and Ava Allen, all of Bexar, Arkansas; along with many other relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
The family will hold a private ceremony to honor Lois’s life. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
