Lonnie Wayne Koelling

Lonnie Wayne Koelling, 74, of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, departed this life on August 18, 2022, at Mountain Home, Arkansas.  Lonnie was born to Preston Eugene Koelling and Maudie Agnes (Walker) Koelling on February 23, 1948, in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas.

Lonnie was married to Bonita Kay Wilkening on November 16, 1964, in Salem, Arkansas.  Lonnie spent forty plus years working as a heavy equipment operator with Thayer Special Road District, Cowart’s Construction, and Fulton County Road Department.  Lonnie was an avid hunter and enjoyed watching the wildlife.  Lonnie also loved going to auctions, wrestling, and was a member of the Shiloh Grand Gulf Church in Thayer, Missouri.  Lonnie was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend.

Lonnie leaves to mourn his passing, wife, Bonita Koelling of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; son, Lyle Koelling (Rebecca) of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; two daughters, Rhonda Mitchell (Johnny) of Koshkonong, Missouri and Trena Spears (Justin) of Mountain Home, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Luke Barker (Samantha), Stephanie Cox (Matt), Clay Rucker (Kari), Stacie Tableriou (Tommy), Tesa Ramskow (Matt), Hunter Boles (Lindsey), Blake Spears, and Kali Koelling; eighteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Dale Koelling of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas and Gerald Koelling (Bonnie) of Byhalia, Mississippi; sister, Nora Koelling of Hammond, Indiana; many other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson (Shelby Scott Druck Koelling), four brothers, and six sisters.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, August 21, 2022, at the Sturgeon Cemetery in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas with Bro. Logan Welch officiating. Interment will be in the Sturgeon Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Luke Barker, Clay Rucker, Blake Spears, Hoyt Smith, Justin Spears, and Johnny Mitchell.  Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.  Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
