Mary Ethel Scribner

Mary Ethel Scribner, age 78, of Salem, Arkansas was born on September 3, 1939 in Camp, Arkansas, daughter of William Kelsie and Norma Caldonia (Maguffee) Sutherland. She departed this life on November 28, 2017 in Salem, Arkansas.                             Mary married Roye Huston Scribner on June 28, 1957 in Carlsbad, New Mexico and to this union three children were born. During her working years she owned and operated a Sears store along with her husband Roye. Mary was an Administration Assistant for Home Health, Fulton County Health and was a homemaker. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and was a member of Salem Church of Christ.   She leaves to mourn her passing; husband, Roye Huston Scribner of Salem, Arkansas; two sons, Mark Alan Scribner and wife René of Cedar Park, Texas and Kevin Gregory Scribner and wife Annette of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; daughter, Jamie Lynn Bartholomew and husband Todd of Weiner, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Jordan Chesnut of Cedar Park, Texas, Megan Calloway of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Connor Scribner of Fort Worth, Texas, Kaitlin Lamborn of Oceanside, California, Chloe Scribner of Cedar Park, Texas, Mackenzie Bartholomew of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Kristin Vanaman of Weiner, Arkansas and Jake Vanaman of Weiner, Arkansas; five great grandchildren, Aiden Calloway, Emery Calloway, Kylan Lamborn, Jackson Chesnut and Sloan Scribner (on the way); two sisters, Pat Crouch of Salem, Arkansas and Jo Mathis of Searcy, Arkansas; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother (Norma Hayes) and father (Buck Sutherland).             Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Salem Church of Christ in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. Mike Yates and Bro. Heath Rhodes officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Connor Scribner, Jake Vanaman, James Patterson, Grady Scribner, John Scribner and Casey Scribner. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to the Children's Home of Paragould, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas.
