Maylo Marie (Milburn) Sauter

June 28, 1952 — August 1, 2025

Salem

Maylo Marie Sauter, 73, of Salem, Arkansas, passed away on August 1, 2025, at her home in Salem. She was born on June 28, 1952, in Sheridan, Oregon, to Helen King.

Maylo was a woman of deep love, creativity, and strength. She ran her own daycare, nurturing countless children over the years with patience and care. Her passions were many—she was an avid fan of stock car racing and was a member of a racing team. She also found great joy in the outdoors, especially fishing and camping.

Maylo had a true artist’s heart and loved to draw. She was of the Christian faith, and her life reflected the values of compassion, devotion, and grace. Her greatest joy, however, came from time spent with her family. She married Roy Kenneth Sauter on March 2, 1993, in Hillsboro, Oregon, and together they built a life full of adventure, love, and laughter.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Roy Sauter of Salem, Arkansas; two sons, Ben Sauter of Salem, Arkansas, and Lee Louge of Seattle, Washington; two daughters, Kadi Hurlburt (Michael) of Salem, Arkansas, and Michelle Jones (Greg) of Kansas City, Missouri; five grandchildren, Justin Hunter, Jason Husing, Alex Cardwell, Harmony Johnson, and Kevin Hurlburt; and three great-grandchildren, Tiya Husing, Silas Hunter, and Lily Mae Johnson. She is also remembered fondly by many other relatives and friends.

Maylo was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jim Acklin, and her sister Pam Acklin.

The family will hold memorial services at a later date to celebrate Maylo’s life.

Memorials may be made to an animal shelter of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
