Michael Lee Smith

Michael (Mike) Lee Smith, 65, passed away on December 08, 2020 at Oak Bend Hospital in Richmond, Texas. He was born to T.D. Smith and Miyoko (Fujimoto) Smith in San Pedro, California on May 22, 1955.

Mike graduated as Valedictorian from Viola High School in 1973. He attended Arkansas Tech University graduating in 1977 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.

He married Brenda (Brewer) Smith, in 1977 and they lived together in Richmond, Texas. Together they raised 2 children Joshua Lee Smith and Ryan Nicholas Smith.

Mike retired in 2020 from a very successful 43 year career in pipeline engineering and construction. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and skeet shooting with his buddies. He especially loved working on his classic cars with his son Josh.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Smith; a son, Ryan (and Andrea) Smith; a brother, Richard Smith; and mother Miyoko Smith, along with many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father T.D. Smith and son Josh Smith.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 12, 11:00 am, at the Mitchell Cemetery in Mitchell, Arkansas, with arrangements under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas.
